Why Manatee Insight?

People and nature, across resource systems. Manatees inhabit deltas and mangroves. These vital ecosystems lie at the meeting point of freshwater, land and oceans, providing food and protection from climate change to many millions of people.

Global thinking, local details. Manatees and their sirenian relatives live in warm waters around the world. They have been associated with local cultural traditions, including Mami Wata, a water spirt venerated in several countries in Africa and the Americas.
